Read Deuteronomy 30:15-20

15See, I set before you today lifeg and prosperity,h deathi and destruction.j 16For I command you today to lovek the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will livel and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.
17But if your heart turns away and you are not obedient, and if you are drawn away to bow down to other gods and worship them, 18I declare to you this day that you will certainly be destroyed.m You will not live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess.
19This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against youn that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses.o Now choose life, so that you and your children may live 20and that you may lovep the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life,q and he will giver you many years in the lands he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Think

One of Jesus’ phrases that I particularly like is ‘The Kingdom of God is among you.’  A reminder that God’s Kingdom is right here; not some far off dream or ambition, but a present reality.  The Kingdom of God is present whenever we decide to make God our one and only King.  Whenever we choose God’s way over our own selfish ambitions.

Pray

In Deuteronomy Moses warns against hearts that turn away and are not obedient; that bow down to other gods and worship them.  Ask God to guard your heart today.
