Read Romans 10:8-13

Wednesday

Read Romans 10:8-13

8 What it says is this: “God's message is near you, on your lips and in your heart”—that is, the message of faith that we preach. 9 If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from death, you will be saved. 10 For it is by our faith that we are put right with God; it is by our confession that we are saved. 11 The scripture says, “Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.” 12 This includes everyone, because there is no difference between Jews and Gentiles; God is the same Lord of all and richly blesses all who call to him. 13 As the scripture says, “Everyone who calls out to the Lord for help will be saved.”

Think

Verse 10 - “One believes with the heart and so is justified...”  This simple heart movement that receives the message of God’s love and grace is enough for us to know our sins forgiven.  “One confesses with the mouth and so is saved.” (Again Verse 10) To confess that Jesus is Lord is to say that you want to submit your life to him - he helps you to do this and saves you.

Pray

Lord I believe in my heart and confess with my lips; take away my sin and save me.
