Read Proverbs 25:6-7

Read Proverbs 25:6-7

6 When you stand before the king, don't try to impress him and pretend to be important. 7 It is better to be asked to take a higher position than to be told to give your place to someone more important.

Humility is good; but I've noticed that many people don't 'toot their own horns' often enough.  This proverb, and the gospel passage believe that you will be seen for your value without pushing yourself forward.

Lord give me enough self confidence to humbly trust in your strength to lift me up.
