Read Psalm 146:5-10

I pray that you are having a hope filled Advent.  For the next few weeks I'll be recycling old Read Think Pray posts as I take a short break from writing.

Look out for something new and exciting in 2020 - I have posted over 1,500 Read Think Prays following the lectionary. In 2020 I might do some day by day devotions reading through various books of the Bible.

To revisit old posts have a look at

God bless,

Read Psalm 146:5-10

5Happy are those who have the God of Jacob to help them
and who depend on the Lord their God,
6the Creator of heaven, earth, and sea,
and all that is in them.
He always keeps his promises;
7he judges in favour of the oppressed
and gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets prisoners free
8and gives sight to the blind.
He lifts those who have fallen;
he loves his righteous people.
9He protects the strangers who live in our land;
he helps widows and orphans,
but takes the wicked to their ruin.
10The Lord is king for ever.
Your God, O Zion, will reign for all time.
Praise the Lord!

"Happy are those... who depend on the LORD their God..." (Verse 5)
As you read through this Psalm see how God is the God who sets people free, lifts them up, and sustains them.

Lord I depend on you.
